In order to make our workshop as valuable for you as possible, I wanted to get some prior information from you. If you could each respond to this post with the following information, I would appreciate it:
- Your name, position, school (including school level, e.g., elementary, middle, or high), and county
- Your current familiarity with the PLC model on a scale from 1 to 4, where 1 is no familiarity and 4 is high level of familiarity
- Your school's current level of PLC implementation on a scale from 1 to 4, where 1 is no PLC implementation at all and 4 is high level of functioning (e.g., teachers are all organized into professional learning teams, they meet at least twice a month during the school day, they create common assessments, they analyze student data together, and they create targeted interventions for students)
- Two or three questions, issues, or concerns that you hope will be addressed during our workshop
Thanks!

I suppose I am a 4. I have been conducting PLC meetings with my science teachers for a year and a half. More likely a 3-4; there is always room for learning and improvement.

I can only speak to science. We meet twice a month to discuss curriculum, planning, materials, resources, safety, successes and challenges, etc.

I am interesting in learning from others' experiences. I am wish to learn first hand techniques for handling uncooperative members. I am also interested in different styles of meetings. I am the only representative from my county attending and I need to take back as much information as I can to my district.

2.5 maybe
I would like to think that I am familiar with PLC's but I am positive I have so much more to learn.

2- Teachers volunteer to be a part of a PLC. This is new this year and completely teacher led and initiated. I think the teachers are involved because they feel it will help them in their documentation for the new teacher evaluation model that our school system is piloting this year. All teachers are not involved by any means.

How do we get teacher buy-in for PLC's?
Should PLC's be mostly teacher led and initiated or should administration become involved to guide and direct?

Between 3 &
I would say we are at a High 3 of implementation because teachers are all organized into professional learning teams, they meet weekly during the school day, they analyze student data together and with the instructional team (Prin, AP, and Instructional Coach) regularly, and they create targeted interventions for students)
Questions:
I would like to hear others' success stories and how they get buy in for the few less reluctant ones.
Thanks for sharing this amazing article
